About the Event
The Omaha 5k is a charity run/walk event taking place at Zorinsky Lake Park in Omaha, Nebraska. The event is part of the 13th Annual Head for the Cure series.
Course and Schedule
The event features a 5k run/walk. A course map is available online. The schedule includes a Kids Fun Run 100 Meter Dash, followed by the main race. A group photo for brain tumor survivors and special recognition ceremonies are held after the run.
Purpose and Beneficiaries
The event raises funds and awareness for brain cancer. Funds raised locally benefit the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Children’s Nebraska, Leap for a Cure, Path to Hope, and other national brain cancer programs, education, and initiatives.
Additional Information
The event offers special community recognitions, including awards for caregivers, healthcare professionals, survivors, and memorials.
