Omaha Triathlon
The Omaha Triathlon takes place at Lake Cunningham and is scheduled for Sunday, July 19, 2026. The event marks its 17th year and is presented as the only Olympic distance triathlon in the state of Nebraska. The event offers both Olympic and sprint distance options and runs swim, bike, and run courses at the same venue.
Event distances include:
- Olympic: 1500 m swim, 40 km bike, 10K run
- Sprint: 750 m swim, 20K bike, 5K run
The sprint waves start immediately after the Olympic waves, and both race courses run concurrently. The Olympic distance can be entered by individuals or as a team; teams may have two or three athletes.
Packet pickup is available on Saturday outside the transition area near the finish line from 1 to 5 p.m. Race packets contain a bib number and sticker set, swim cap, numbered wristband, disposable timing chip, and race shirt. All participants must present a valid photo ID to receive their packet, and packets will only be released to another individual with prior written authorization. Participants may also pick up their race packet on race morning by 6:15 a.m.
There is no mandatory bike drop off on Saturday, but dropping off a bike in advance is recommended. Bikes placed in transition must display the race number sticker and correspond with the athlete wristband. No bikes will be allowed in transition once it is closed prior to the race start.
