Omaha Triathlon - Nebraska State Championships 2026
The Omaha Triathlon returns to Lake Cunningham on July 19, 2026, marking its 17th edition. The event is held at 8660 Lake Cunningham Rd, Omaha, NE 68122. It is described as the only Olympic distance triathlon in Nebraska.
The program includes multiple race formats: Olympic distance individual and team relay, sprint distance for age groups and high school athletes, aquabike, duathlon, open water competitive swim, aquathon/swimrun, corporate team relay and a high school sprint relay division. The duathlon distance is 5k run / 40k bike / 10k run. The bike course runs on Lake Cunningham Road, North 72nd Street and Highway 36 Bennington Road. The run course follows the Lake Cunningham Recreation Area lake. Full course maps and an athlete guide are provided for competitors.
Awards are given for overall top three male and female finishers in Olympic and sprint divisions, for age group placings in both Olympic and sprint races, for top high school finishers age 15 to 19, for top corporate relay teams and for top relay teams based on the number of entries. Top male and female placings are also recognized in aquabike and duathlon. Post race food includes pancakes and sausage for competitors. Campground facilities with showers and bathrooms are available for reserved guests, and voluntary bike drop off and a practice swim are scheduled prior to race day.
