Omaha Triathlon - Nebraska State Championships 2026
The Omaha Triathlon takes place at Lake Cunningham Recreation Area in Omaha, Nebraska, returning for its 17th year. The event includes multiple race formats held at the same venue and address: 8660 Lake Cunningham Rd, Entrance #1, Omaha NE 68122.
Race formats and distances include:
- Olympic: 1500m swim, 40k bike, 10k run
- Sprint: 750m swim, 20k bike, 5k run
- Duathlon: 5k run, 40k bike, 10k run
- Aquabike: 1500m swim and 40k bike
- Aquathon/SwimRun: 1500m swim and 10k run
- Open water swim: 1500m
- Team relays: relay entries with teams of 2 or 3 members
Several championships and award categories are contested. Nebraska age-group state championships are part of the event and high school state championship divisions are included; athletes do not have to reside in Nebraska to win a state championship. Awards include overall top three male and female for Olympic and sprint individuals, age-group top-three medals, high school top-three overall in age 15 to 19, awards for aquabike and duathlon top male and female, and awards for relay teams (top 30 percent and corporate relay awards where applicable). The open water competitive swim has no awards.
Event materials include course maps and an athlete guide with details on courses, practice swim times, and voluntary bike drop-off. Post-race food for competitors is provided as part of registration and the campground offers shower and bathroom facilities for reserved guests.
