Summer Sizzler - Kansas City
The Summer Sizzler is an annual running event taking place in Overland Park, Kansas. This athletic gathering offers various distances to accommodate different participants, including options for timed competitive runs and untimed recreational activities. The event features chip-timing with live results and awards for those participating in the timed categories.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 15k (9.32 miles)
- 10k (6.2 miles)
- 5k (3.1 miles)
- 1 Mile (untimed)
- Kids Dash (50 meters, for ages 10 and under)
Registration for the 5k, 10k, and 15k events include a custom bib, a designer shirt, and a finisher medal. The 1 Mile and Kids Dash also provide participants with a shirt and medal, though these categories are untimed. For the Kids Dash, a free participation option is available for children who do not require event merchandise. To ensure shirt availability, registrations must be completed by midnight on the Thursday two weeks prior to the event date.
Additional event features include free photography for participants and post-race refreshments such as Kona Ice and other treats at the finish line. A "Volunteer and Run" option is available for those who wish to assist with event logistics before participating in a race. For those unable to attend the physical location, a virtual race option allows for remote participation.
