Event Information
The Tiblow Trot 5 Mile/5K/2K is an annual running and walking event held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, in Bonner Springs, Kansas. It celebrates 48 years and takes place during Tiblow Days, the city's largest annual community festival. All funds raised support Bonner Springs High School scholarships, the Rotary's Polio Plus Program, and other Rotary causes.
The event features three distances:
- 5 Mile Run (competitive run)
- 5K Run/Walk (run or walk)
- 2K Walk (1.24 miles, a fun walk)
Registration and Fees
The standard registration fee is $31 for the 5-mile and 5K events, and $26 for the 2K walk. Participants aged 12 and under pay a reduced fee of $21 for all events. Prices increase after June 1, 2026. Registering by August 1, 2026, guarantees a participant shirt, and opting out of a shirt reduces the fee by $5.
Logistics
The race begins at the intersection of 3rd Street and Oak Street in Bonner Springs. Packet pickup is available on Friday, August 28, at Olde Mill (611 W. 2nd St.) from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM, and on race morning at Kinfolk Created (304 Oak Street) from 6:00 AM to 6:30 AM. Parking is available near the starting line. Pets are not allowed on the racecourse.
Awards and Recognition
All participants who finish receive a finisher's medal. Age group awards (1st, 2nd, 3rd place) are given for both the 5K and 5-mile races. Additional awards are presented to the first overall male and female finishers and the top masters finishers in the 5K and 5-mile events. The overall winner of the 5-mile run who sets a new race record receives a $250 prize. All participants are automatically entered into a drawing for a gift certificate.
