2026 Kansas City 5K - Head for the Cure
The 24th Annual Head for the Cure 5K - Kansas City is a community event focused on raising awareness and funds for brain cancer research and patient programs. The event takes place at Corporate Woods Building 40, located at 9401 Indian Creek Parkway in Overland Park, Kansas. Participants can take part in the following activities:
- 5K run or walk
- 100 Meter Dash Kids Fun Run
The event schedule includes a morning packet pick-up for participants, followed by a Courage Award Ceremony. After the main race, the program continues with a group photo for brain tumor survivors and various community recognitions, including the Keeping the Faith and Legacy of Love honors. These recognitions celebrate the courage of survivors, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
Funds raised through this event support local beneficiaries in the Kansas City area, including the University of Kansas Cancer Center, Children’s Mercy Kansas City, Solace House, and the Children’s Brain Tumor Project. Contributions also benefit Brains for the Cure and other national brain cancer education initiatives. The event features a designated parking area and a specific course map for participants to follow through the Corporate Woods grounds.
