The Heatwave event in Kansas City, MO on 08/01/2027 offers in-person and virtual race options across several distances and family-focused activities.

Race registrations include a custom bib, a designer shirt, and a finisher medal for most distances. The 1 Mile and Kids Dash are untimed; the Kids Dash is for ages 10 and under and includes a youth-sized shirt and a smaller bib. Chip timing with live results and awards is provided for the timed road races and some volunteer entries. Youth pricing applies for the 5K and 10K: ages 12 and under are $17.
The virtual entry includes a digital bib, event shirt, finisher medal, and shipping for the packet; packets are mailed and ship the Wednesday after the event. Virtual participants can upload times beginning the day of the event. Volunteers who choose the Volunteer Then Run option are asked to arrive 30 minutes before packet pickup and may run any distance afterward. A free ice cream offering at the finish is part of the event amenities.
