Kansas City Zoo Run 2026

The 2026 Kansas City Zoo Run is scheduled for Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 6800 Zoo Drive in Kansas City, Missouri. This is the event's 23rd anniversary and features a different animal species each year, with 2026's theme being "Run for the Hornbills."

The event includes the following distances:

4 Mile run/walk
1 Mile walk, with separate events for adults (age 13+) and children (age 1-12) Each distance is also available as a virtual run option.

Every participant receives specially branded items related to the year's featured animal, which in 2026 includes a custom Hornbills t-shirt and a custom Hornbills finisher's medal. Entry also includes a free one-time pass to the Kansas City Zoo, valid on race day or any day through the end of 2026.

A portion of each participant's entry fee supports the Friends of the Zoo, and participants have the option to start fundraising after registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
