The KC Blind All-Stars Foundation 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk

The KC Blind All-Stars Foundation 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk is an annual community event held in Kansas City. Now in its eighth year, the event supports the Kansas City Blind All-Stars Foundation and the students of the Kansas School for the Blind. The course begins and ends on the campus of the Kansas School for the Blind and incorporates the Jersey Creek Trail.

Participants can choose from several event formats:

  • In-Person 5K Run
  • In-Person 1 Mile Walk
  • Virtual 5K Run
  • Virtual 1 Mile Walk

The in-person events feature a timed 5K run and a 1-mile walk. After the physical events conclude, the campus hosts a community celebration including local food trucks, vendors, and live music. Awards are presented to the overall male and female winners of the 5K race.

All registered participants receive a commemorative medal. Those who register by the September 1 deadline are also guaranteed a race t-shirt. Virtual participants have the option to complete their chosen distance in their own local community and will receive their participant items by mail or through scheduled packet pickup.

On-site parking is available at the school campus, with overflow parking directed to nearby streets. The event proceeds contribute to inclusive education, adaptive athletics, and student programming for youth who are blind or visually impaired. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
