Signal Hill Rotary Mutt Run 5K
The event takes place on March 20, 2027, beginning at the Granada Launch Ramp at Rosie's Dog Beach. The course follows the beach pedestrian path along the Long Beach shoreline toward the pier. Paid parking is available; the first hour costs $2 at the 54th & Claremont lot and at the La Verne lot.
Race options include:
- 5k human run without a dog
- 5k human run with a dog
- 1k human run with a dog
An adoption event by Long Beach Animal Care Services takes place at the finish line and continues during the post-race festival. Participation is limited to 400 people. Teams of family, friends, or coworkers may be formed for the event.
All breeds of dogs are welcome. Participants may run or walk at their own pace. Dogs must be on leash and remain on the pedestrian path at all times. Owners are asked to clean up after their dogs. Dogs must be well behaved and not aggressive toward people or other dogs.
T-shirts and custom medals will be provided to all human participants. Translucent plaque trophies will be awarded to the top three finishers. Seventy percent of proceeds will support Long Beach Animal Care Services for urgently needed supplies; thirty percent will go to the Signal Hill Rotary community project fund.
