Signal Hill Rotary Mutt Run : February 21, 2026
The event takes place along the Long Beach shoreline, starting at the Claremont Launch Ramp at 5350 E. Ocean Blvd. A course map shows a walking route in Belmont Shore that ends near Rosie’s Dog Beach. An adoption event by Long Beach Animal Care Services will be held at the finish line and during the post-race festival. Paid parking is available; the first hour costs $2 at the 54th & Claremont lot and the adjacent La Verne lot. Registration is limited to 300 participants.
Race format, rules and proceeds
Race categories include:
- 5k for humans running alone
- 5k for humans running with a dog
- 1k for humans running with a dog
All breeds of dogs are welcome. Dogs must be leashed, stay on the pedestrian path, and be well-behaved and non-aggressive with people and other dogs. Participants may run or walk at their own pace, with or without a dog. T-shirts are provided to all human participants. Seventy percent of proceeds will support Long Beach Animal Care Services to purchase supplies; thirty percent will go to the Signal Hill Rotary community project fund.
