Labor Day Running Event in Plymouth
The Blueberry Stomp is a non-profit running event held annually in Plymouth, Indiana, in conjunction with the Marshall County Blueberry Festival. The event takes place on Labor Day and features multiple distances starting near Centennial Park on Michigan Street. The race supports local community ministries and typically draws a large audience of spectators along the courses.
Participants can choose from three distinct distances:
- 1 Mile Fun Run: A non-competitive out-and-back course with a 30-minute time limit.
- 5K Race: An out-and-back route through residential areas that follows a local parade path.
- 15K Race: A route that travels through downtown and into the countryside, featuring rolling hills.
The 5K and 15K races are timed with a cannon fire start. The courses share the first and last mile, with the 15K extending further into rural terrain. Water stations are positioned at various points along the routes. Strollers are permitted on the course, provided they are secured, but pets are not allowed for the safety of all participants.
Registration is conducted exclusively online. Packet pick-up is organized at the Road Runner Pavilion in Centennial Park on the day before the race and on the morning of the event. Cash prizes are awarded to the top four male and female finishers in the 5K and 15K categories, with additional awards for the top three finishers in various age groups ranging from 14 and under to 75 and older.
