Blue Ducky 5K Waddle
The Blue Ducky 5K Waddle is a 5K event with an in-person and a virtual option. It is held in remembrance of a woman who helped save the lives of eight people through organ, eye, and tissue donation. A portion of the event proceeds will benefit the Chris Klug Foundation, a nonprofit that promotes donation education.
The in-person course uses the main entrance road at Tickfaw State Park, following the side of the road and grass area for a 1.55 mile out-and-back loop that reaches near a water area and finishes near the River Trail head. Restroom facilities are located next to the start and finish. Parking is available throughout the park. The park features boardwalks through multiple ecosystems, a nature center with displays, and an 800 gallon aquarium.
Race entry is $45 and covers race entry and provided items. All participants receive a shirt and sunglasses and are offered fruit salad and a breakfast sandwich. Awards are given to the top male and top female finishers after the final participant completes the course.
Strollers and dogs are not allowed on the course. Closed ear headphones are discouraged; open ear headphones are welcome. If conditions change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, refunds will not be issued. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
