Blue Ducky Waddle 5K
The Blue Ducky 5K Waddle is held in remembrance of Stephany Nicolosi, who helped save lives through organ, eye, and tissue donation. The event's name comes from her love of the color blue and rubber duckies. A portion of the proceeds benefits the Chris Klug Foundation, which educates on the importance of donation.
The race takes place at Tickfaw State Park in Springfield, Louisiana. Participants can view the park's 800-gallon aquarium and exhibits on local animals and culture. The course is an out-and-back route on the main entrance road and adjacent grass area, totaling 5 km. It passes a water area and finishes near the River Trail head. Restrooms are located next to the start and finish.
Check-in is on the morning of the event. Parking is available throughout the park.
The event has a virtual 5K option. Race entry is $45 and includes a shirt and sunglasses. Fruit salad and a breakfast sandwich are provided. Awards are given to the top male and female runners. Strollers and dogs are not allowed on the course, and closed-ear headphones are discouraged for safety. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
