Event details
The Blue Ducky 5K Waddle is scheduled for May 16, 2026 in Springfield, LA. The event is in its third year and offers an in-person 5K plus a virtual 5K option. Registration opens on December 1, 2025. A portion of the event proceeds will benefit the Chris Klug Foundation, a nonprofit that promotes organ, eye, and tissue donation.
Course and facilities
The in-person course is at Tickfaw State Park and follows the main entrance road as an out-and-back route of about 1.55 miles each way. Runners will use the side of the road and grass areas. The finish is near the River Trailhead. Restrooms are located next to the start/finish area. Parking is available throughout the park. The park features boardwalks through multiple ecosystems and a nature center with exhibits.
Entry, amenities and rules
The listed race entry fee is $45 and includes race swag. All participants receive a shirt and sunglasses, plus provided food items. Awards will be given to the top male and female finishers. Strollers and dogs are not allowed on the course. Closed-ear headphones are discouraged; open-ear headphones are allowed. Refunds are not issued for unforeseen circumstances; start times or schedules may be adjusted for severe weather or other disruptions.
