Blue Crab Turkey Trot 5k & 10k : Silver Spring
The event offers chip-timed 5 km and 10 km races at Wheaton Regional Park in Silver Spring, Maryland. Points for participation count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack Series, and also toward the Fall Series. A virtual race option is available for participants who cannot attend in person.
The course is a mix of gravel, trail, and paved paths with rolling hills; the 5k is an out-and-back once and the 10k is an out-and-back twice. Water stations are placed along the courses: two stations on the 5k and five stations on the 10k, with Gatorade available at some stations. Course maps are available through MapMyRun.
Runners receive a finisher medal, a technical Drifit event shirt, and chip timing. T-shirt sizes are guaranteed for runners registered before November 12; extra shirts may be available later on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration fees are listed with early and regular pricing and increase on race morning by $5 per distance; separate race day registration is available.
Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second place in defined age categories. Live results will be posted online and final results with series points are published after the event. The organizer operates races in all weather and will notify registrants if changes occur.
