Hosted by Bleu's K9 Rescue, the event takes place at L Vern Allen Park and utilizes a route guided by the local police department. The primary focus of the gathering is to support local homeless dogs within the Hudson Valley, with all proceeds from the event directed toward rescue efforts.
Course and Participation
The course covers a distance of 3.1 miles (approximately 5 km) and is open to both runners and walkers. A significant feature of this event is that participants are encouraged to bring their dogs along for the race. To ensure safety and organization, several specific rules apply to canine participants:
- Dogs must be friendly and kept on a leash.
- Retractable leashes are not permitted.
- All participating dogs must have a current Rabies vaccination.
- Owners are responsible for bringing their own waste bags.
