Event Details
The Blencathra Fell Race takes place on 28 June 2026 in Mungrisdale. It is a category 'AM' fell race with a distance of 13 km and 825 m of ascent. The event is a counter in the 2026 English Fell Running Championships.
The race follows the "classic" route. The first ascent to checkpoint 1 will be partially marked.
Participation and Entry
Entry is open to runners aged 18 and over. The entry fee is £16. Entry places are allocated in phases: first for those with guaranteed entry, then for FRA members, and finally for all remaining applicants. The event has a participant limit of 400. A waiting list will be used if the event becomes full.
Practical Information
Registration and parking are at Low Beckside Farm. From there, it is a 10-15 minute walk to the race start. Participants must have navigation skills and be competent in mountain craft.
