Blackpool Summer Run
The Blackpool Summer Run offers two measured road distances along the Promenade, with the course starting by the Comedy Carpet near Blackpool Tower. The route is closed to traffic and runs by the sea. The event is chip timed and uses personalised bibs with pre attached timing tags.
Both distances start together in a mass start. The 5k is one lap of the course and the 10k comprises two laps. Water is provided at the finish for both distances and there is a water station at the halfway point for the 10k supplying 500 ml bottled water. Runners are asked to use the bins provided for bottles.
Entry is by pre-registration only. Age limits apply: the 10k is for ages 15 and over, the 5k is for ages 11 and over. Entry fees are listed for each distance, with a small discount for registered England Athletics or ARC club members. The event is England Athletics licensed and medical cover is provided on site, including paramedics and roaming bikes.
Race pack collection is available on race day and can also be collected the week before from the organiser's office on Clifton Road. Facilities include portable toilets, baggage storage, a key drop, free event photography, commemorative T shirts for pre order, and chip-timed results published after the event.
