Black To The Trails 2026

Black To The Trails is a trail running event held at Dunstable Downs in Whipsnade. Organized by Black Trail Runners, the event is designed to be a globally representative and inclusive experience. The course takes place entirely on trails within the Dunstable Downs and Whipsnade Estate.

Participants can choose from several distances:

  • 1 km: A short distance designed for families and children.
  • 5 km: A standard trail run distance.
  • 10 km: A longer trail route.
  • Scotch Bonnet 10 km: A more technical version of the 10 km distance.

The event features an event village that includes various community activities such as face painting, food concessions, and live music with DJs. On-site facilities include an Adidas "test and trial" vehicle where participants can test trail shoes. All finishers receive a medal and a goody bag upon completion of their run.

The venue is accessible by road via the B4541, and a dedicated free event car park is provided. Alternative pay and display parking is available at Dunstable Downs and Whipsnade crossroads. The nearest train station is Luton, located 7 miles from the site. Coaches are also scheduled to transport participants from London and Birmingham. Please note that dogs are not permitted to participate in the trail races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
