2026 Black Friday 5k & 10k
The event is a chip-timed road/trail run held at Frying Pan Park in Herndon, VA (2709 West Ox Rd). Distances offered:

Points from the races count toward the organizer’s Year-Long 5k, 10k and Back of the Pack series and toward a Fall Series. A virtual race option is available for those who cannot attend in person.
Course, services and logistics
The route uses a combination of a technical trail with rocks and roots and a mostly light gravel dirt road that is fairly flat. The 5k is two laps of the course and the 10k is four laps. Water stations are provided—three on the 10k (approximate mile markers 1.55, 3.1 and 4.65) and one on the 5k (approximate mile marker 1.55); Gatorade may be available at some stations. Restrooms are located near the playground. Packet pickup is available at the event; participants are advised to arrive approximately one hour before their event to check in. Race day registration is offered, but shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed for same-day registrants.
Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (Drifit) event shirt, and chip timing. Live results will be posted online and final results with series points will be published after the race.
