2026 Black Friday 5k & 10k
This event takes place at Frying Pan Park in Herndon, VA and offers both a 5 km and a 10 km course. Points earned count toward the Year‑Long 5k, 10k and Back of the Pack series and also toward the Fall Series.
The routes use park trails and a light gravel dirt road. The 5 km course is two laps and the 10 km course is four laps. Much of the route is fairly flat, though sections of trail include rocks and roots. Water stations are located at approximately mile 1.55 on the 5 km and at approximately miles 1.55, 3.1 and 4.65 on the 10 km; Gatorade is available at some stations. Restrooms are near the playground.
Runners receive a finisher’s coin, a technical Drifit event shirt, and chip timing. T shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before November 16; extra shirts are provided later on a first come first served basis. Live race results are posted during the event and final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race. A virtual race option is available for participants who cannot attend in person. Walkers are welcome.
Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second place male and female in age groups from 19 and under through 70 and over.
