Black Cat 5K Fun Run & Walk
The Black Cat 5K Fun Run & Walk takes place on October 24, 2026 at the Twin Lakes Neighborhood, 3002 Beaver Pond Trail, Valrico, FL. The event benefits A Kitten Place Rescue and includes both an in person gathering and a virtual option.
Distances and formats:
- 5K Fun Run untimed, in person
- One mile walk around the lake
- Virtual 5K completed any day chosen by the participant
Participants receive an event T shirt, a finisher medal, and a goodie bag while supplies last. Complimentary snacks and beverages will be available for in person attendees. The 5K includes overall awards for male, female and youth categories. Additional recognition is planned for top fundraisers in first, second and third places.
The event program includes music, raffles, a silent auction and awards. A costume contest is held for people and for pets. A cat litter and toy drive runs alongside the event; donations of clumping or non clumping cat litter or of cat and kitten toys earn entries in a raffle. Raffle winners must be present to claim prizes.
Virtual participants receive an event T shirt and a goodie bag while supplies last and may complete the distance at any time. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
