Black Cat 5K Fun Run & Walk
The event benefits A Kitten Place Rescue and takes place in the Twin Lakes neighborhood in Valrico, Florida on October 24, 2026. The in-person program includes an untimed community 5K and a one mile walk around the lake. A virtual 5K option is offered for remote participants.

Registration opens July 7, 2026. In-person registration closes August 23, 2026; virtual registration closes October 24, 2026. Registration fees listed are $35.00 for the in-person event and $30.00 for the virtual event. Early packet pickup is scheduled on October 18 at Pet Supplies Plus in Valrico, which will include an adoption event, and on October 21 at Fit2Run in Brandon.
Registration packets and participant materials include an event T-shirt, a finisher medal for in-person participants, and a goodie bag while supplies last. The in-person gathering will feature music, refreshments, raffles, a silent auction, awards for 5K overall male, female and youth, a costume contest for people and pets, and top fundraiser awards for first through third place.
A cat litter and toy drive is part of the event; donations of clumping or non-clumping litter or cat toys earn raffle entries. Raffle winners must be present to claim prizes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
