Bird Ridge Hill Climb
The Bird Ridge Hill Climb is an annual mountain running event organized by the Alaska Mountain Runners. The competition takes place at the Bird Ridge Trailhead in Indian, Alaska. Participants navigate steep terrain in a vertical-style race format that emphasizes elevation gain over a short horizontal distance.
The event offers two distinct course options for participants:
- Full Climb: A 3-mile ascent reaching the upper sections of the ridge.
- Jack's Run: A shorter 1.5-mile version of the hill climb.
Registration for the event typically opens at the beginning of May. The race is located within the Chugach State Park area, utilizing the established trail system for the competition.
