Binevenagh Mountain Race
The Binevenagh mountain race takes place in County Derry. This event is organized by NIMRA and serves as a counting race for both the IMRA Ulster Championship and the NIMRA League. The course is set on mountain terrain where only major junctions are marked for navigation. The use of GPS devices for navigation is not permitted during the event.
The event offers a single distance for participants:
- 11.90 km with 870 meters of total ascent.
Participants are required to carry Level B standard mandatory kit for the duration of the race. This equipment includes a waterproof jacket, a hat or buff, gloves, and a whistle. Additionally, runners must carry a charged mobile phone with the emergency number stored, as well as a foil blanket, bivvy bag, or an equivalent emergency shelter.
To be included in the final standings for the UIster Championship or the NIMRA League series, runners are expected to complete their relevant association memberships for the 2026 season before competing in their first race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
