The Quadrathon Challenge
The Quadrathon Challenge is a four day running event in Inishowen, Donegal, Ireland, taking place 12 to 15 August 2027. The event stages four separate courses that together form a single 105 mile loop around the peninsula.
Participants can choose between two entry formats:
- Warrior: one to four full marathons.
- Quest: four half marathons.
All courses use mainly tarred roads and follow coastal and inland routes along the Wild Atlantic Way. Each day has a distinct route and elevation profile; runners should expect rolling coastal sections and several sustained climbs. Examples of notable climbs include a near 900 ft rise on Day 1 and Mamore Gap, an 880 ft climb over about 1.2 miles on Day 3. Day 2 follows northern coastal roads from Malin Town and passes Banba’s Crown and Knockamanny Bends. Day 4 is comparatively flat, running from Muff along the west banks of the River Foyle toward Moville.
Event features listed by the organiser include separate start times for walkers and slower runners, kit drop and food facilities at midpoints, toilets and shower facilities near some finish areas, and medals.
