Bill's Beer Run - 5 mile road race
Bill's Beer Run is an annual 5 mile road race held on Casey Key Road in Nokomis, Florida. The 38th running takes place on October 25 and the course runs along the Gulf of Mexico.
The event is limited to 500 runners. Manasota Track Club members have early registration and special pricing. Non-member registration opens on September 1 and the non-member registration price is stated as $150. Registrations submitted by September 1 are guaranteed a race shirt size; registrations after that date are not guaranteed a shirt.
Additional options are offered alongside the main 5 mile event. The Pub Run Series is limited to 100 participants, includes entry to the main 5 mile race and three pub runs in October on Thursdays. A Just Pub Runs option is offered that does not include the 5 mile race. A VIP package is limited to 25 people and includes race registration, Pub Run Series entry, raffle tickets, special swag, reserved parking on race morning, and recognition at the event; proceeds support the club's scholarship efforts.
Per USATF rules, gun time is used to determine prize money winners and time bonus recipients, while tag time or chip time is used for age-group results. Due to county restrictions and the narrowness of Casey Key Road, strollers and dogs are not permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
