Mardi Gras Madness - Sugar Land
Mardi Gras Madness is a themed running event presented by Bigfoot Running Company at Oyster Creek Park in Sugar Land, TX. The event includes multiple race options, on-course festivities, and a costume contest held at the start area.
Distances and options include:
- Kids Dash - about 50 meters for ages 10 and under
- 1 Mile - open to all ages
- 5K - chip timed (3.11 miles)
- 10K - chip timed (6.22 miles)
- Virtual Run - 6.22 miles option
- Volunteer then Run 5K - volunteer before running the 5K
All participants receive a finisher medal and a race tee. The 5K and 10K award 1st overall male and female with the Bigfoot Trophy, 1st Masters 40+ recognition pins, and age group awards with first, second, and third place pins across standard age divisions. Youth pricing and referral/ group discounts are offered as described by the organizer. The shirt size guarantee applies to registrations completed at least ten days before the race.
On-course features aim to reflect a Mardi Gras atmosphere with music, bead tosses at aid stations, and a Race Rally Tent with a DJ for post-race announcements and awards. Packet pickup is offered 1.5 hours before the event. Courses are typically on parks and greenbelts and may include paved trails, crushed granite, or dirt. The event proceeds rain or shine.
