Mardi Gras Madness - Houston
Mardi Gras Madness is a themed running event at Oyster Creek Park in Sugar Land, Texas, hosted by Bigfoot Running Company on February 6, 2027. The event offers in-person and virtual options and a dedicated volunteer-then-run entry that combines pre-race service with participation.
Distances offered include:
- Kids Dash, about 50 meters, for ages 10 and under
- 1 Mile, open to all ages
- 5K, 3.11 miles, chip timed
- 10K, 6.22 miles, chip timed
- Volunteer then Run 5K, 3.11 miles
- Virtual Run, 6.22 miles
All participants receive a finisher medal and a race tee. The Kids Dash includes a special Bigfoot Kids Dash medal and professional photos for participants. The 5K and 10K feature overall trophies for 1st male and female, masters 40+ recognition pins, and standard age group awards with 1st gold, 2nd silver, and 3rd bronze pins across multiple age brackets.
Event features include a Mardi Gras costume contest at the start with a prize pack and the role of Grand Marshal for the winner, on-course bead tosses and themed aid stations, and a Race Rally area with post-race announcements and music. Packet pickup is offered 1.5 hours before the event start. Shirt sizes are guaranteed for registrations completed at least ten days before race day.
