2026 Komen Houston Race for the Cure

The Komen Houston Race for the Cure is a community event held at Sam Houston Park in Houston, Texas. The event is dedicated to supporting breast cancer research and honoring those affected by the disease. Participants can experience a route along Allen Parkway with the Houston city skyline as a backdrop.

Participants can choose between two primary distances:

  • 5 km (approximately three miles)
  • 1 mile

The event includes a competitive timed option for the 5 km distance for participants who purchase a timing chip. Timed runners are eligible for awards in several categories, including the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three finishers in various age groups ranging from 10 and under to 80 and over. Those who are timed receive an individual results page with their pace, a finisher certificate, and a short video of them crossing the start and finish lines.

Special recognition is given to survivors and those living with metastatic breast cancer through the Hope Village Celebration and the Pathway of Hope Survivor Parade. All registered participants receive an event T-shirt, with specific colors designated for survivors to recognize their role in the community. The event also features an Honor and Remembrance Flag Garden where loved ones can be memorialized. Registration is open to individuals and teams, with virtual participation options available for those unable to attend in person. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
