2026 Komen Houston Race for the Cure - Houston, TX
The 2026 Komen Houston Race for the Cure takes place on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Sam Houston Park (1000 Bagby St., Houston, TX 77002). The event is organized by Susan G. Komen and centers on community fundraising and awareness to support breast cancer research, care and advocacy.
The event offers in-person and virtual participation and features multiple route options:
- 5K - approximately three miles
- 1 mile - walk or run option
All registered participants receive an event T-shirt. Shirts for survivors and people living with metastatic breast cancer are in special colors to recognize their role. Participants who register by Sunday, September 6, 2026 may pay to have shirts mailed before race day; otherwise shirts are available at packet pick-up or on race morning. Packet pick-up details are forthcoming and shirt sizes at pick-up are not guaranteed.
Timed participants may purchase a timing chip for $10 to receive official timing and eligibility for awards. Timed participants receive an individual results page, pace breakdown, finisher certificate and a short video of crossing the start and finish. Award categories include top overall male and female 5K finishers and age-group awards from 10 & Under through 80+.
The event includes survivor-focused activities such as a Hope Village celebration, a Pathway of Hope survivor parade, and an Honor and Remembrance Flag Garden. Fundraising progress is tracked publicly; current progress shows $1,354.12 raised toward a $1,006,600.00 event goal and 28 registered participants.
