Heroes and Villains Half Marathon - Brazos River Park
Bigfoot Running Company stages a multi distance running event at Brazos River Park in Sugarland, Texas. The event offers a range of race options, on course aid stations, post race awards, and a finish line gathering with music and refreshments.
Distances include:
- Kids Dash, 50 meter untimed dash (ages 10 and under)
- 1 Mile run, untimed fun run
- 5K, chip timed
- Quarter Marathon, 6.55 miles, chip timed
- Half Marathon, 13.1 miles, chip timed
- Volunteer then Run 5K, chip timed
- Virtual Half Marathon, 13.1 miles
All finishers in every distance receive a medal and a shirt. Overall first place male and female in timed races receive Bigfoot trophies. Age group awards use pins for top placings and a masters recognition pin is given for 40 and older. A costume contest is held shortly before racing with prizes that include a $25 gift card, a free future race entry, and a Bigfoot prize pack.
Volunteer roles are available with options that include water stations, course monitors, finish line helpers, packet pickup, lead bike, mascot, and sweep support. A Volunteer then Run option includes a chip timed bib, shirt, and finisher medal but is limited in availability.
Course surfaces are mixed park and greenbelt trails with pavement, crushed granite, and dirt sections. Packet pickup opens 1.5 hours before the race and shirts are guaranteed if requested at least ten days before the event.
