Event Details
The Heroes and Villains Half Marathon takes place at Brazos River Park in Sugarland, Texas. The event, presented by Bigfoot Running Company, is scheduled for September 13, 2026.
Race Distances
The event features several race distances:
- Kids Dash: A 50-meter untimed dash for participants aged 10 and under.
- 1 Mile Fun Run: An untimed run open to all ages.
- 5K (3.1 miles): A chip-timed race.
- Quarter Marathon (6.55 miles): A chip-timed race.
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles): A chip-timed race.
- Virtual Run: A remote participation option.
A "Volunteer then Run 5K" option is also available, which includes a bib, t-shirt, and finisher medal for volunteers who also run the 5K distance.
On-Site Activities and Features
A Heroic Costume Contest is held before the race starts. Participants have a chance to win a prize pack, a gift card, or a free future race entry. Post-race festivities include an awards ceremony, a DJ, and refreshments at a Race Rally Tent.
All finishers receive a medal and a race shirt. Top finishers receive special Bigfoot Trophies, and age group awards are given for the 5K, Quarter Marathon, and Half Marathon distances. Youth-based pricing is available for the 5K and Quarter Marathon for participants aged 12 and under. Group discounts and a referral bonus program are also offered.
Course and Logistics
The courses utilize scenic local park and greenbelt trails, with surfaces described as mostly paved with some sections of crushed granite and dirt. The event proceeds regardless of weather conditions.
Packet pickup opens 1.5 hours before the race start. A shirt is guaranteed for registrations completed at least 10 days before race day. The event takes place in public spaces, and participants may encounter other park users. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
