Event Overview
The Heroes and Villains Half Marathon - Houston, presented by Bigfoot Running Company, takes place at Brazos River Park in Sugarland. This event features a superhero and villain theme, including a costume contest held before the main races. The course utilizes local park and greenbelt trails, consisting of mixed surfaces such as pavement, crushed granite, and dirt paths. Aid stations are situated along the route to provide hydration for participants.
The event offers several race distances to accommodate different preferences:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles) - Chip timed
- Quarter Marathon (6.55 miles) - Chip timed
- 5K Run (3.1 miles) - Chip timed
- 1 Mile Run - Untimed for all levels
- Kids Dash - 50-meter untimed dash for ages 10 and under
- Virtual Run - Remote participation option
Amenities and Awards
All finishers across all distances receive a medal and a race shirt. A finisher shirt is guaranteed for those who register at least 10 days before the event. Top overall male and female finishers in the 5K, Quarter Marathon, and Half Marathon receive a Bigfoot Trophy. Age group awards are also presented, with the top three in each category receiving gold, silver, or bronze pins.
The Race Rally Tent provides snacks and refreshments to participants. Following the races, there is an awards ceremony and finish line festivities featuring a live DJ.
