9/11 Heroes Run - Houston, Texas
The 9/11 Heroes Run is scheduled for 09/12/2026 at Houston City Hall, 901 Bagby St, Houston TX 77002. The event centers on a 5K distance and welcomes runners, ruckers, and walkers of all ages and fitness levels to honor the heroes of 9/11 and those who have served since.
The event activates and unites communities and seeks to support local veterans, active duty personnel, first responders, and families of the fallen. Offerings at the event include organized 5K running divisions, a 5K ruck division, and volunteer roles.
TMF partners with GORUCK to provide rucking divisions. Rucking is described as walking or running while carrying a weighted rucksack, modeled on special forces training. Participants registered in the GORUCK division receive that year’s TMF GORUCK patch.
Several registration options are listed for the 5K distance, with both paid and no fee choices. Some registration types specifically note equipment and award policies: a No Fee Active Duty/First Responder option does not include a shirt or swag, provides an unchipped runner’s bib, and is not eligible for top finisher awards; a No Shirt No SWAG option does not include a shirt or swag but provides a chipped bib and eligibility for top finisher awards.
