Shark Week Showdown 5K & 10K : Sugar Land
Bigfoot Running Company organizes an ocean-themed running event at Brazos River Park in Sugar Land, Texas. The event includes in-person and virtual options and uses park and greenbelt spaces.
Race distances include:
- Kids Dash 50 m, age 10 and under
- 1 Mile not chip timed, includes race tee and finisher medal
- 5K 3.11 miles, chip timed, awards and finisher medal
- 10K 6.22 miles, chip timed, awards and finisher medal
- Volunteer Then Run 5K run after volunteering, limited to first 10 sign-ups
- Virtual Run 9.33 miles, virtual participation option
The 5K and 10K have age group awards and prizes including overall first place trophies and masters recognition. Age groups range from 10 and under through 70 plus with gold, silver, and bronze placements for top finishers.
Volunteer roles are offered with specific benefits. The Volunteer Then Run option includes a chip-timed bib, race tee, and finisher medal and requires arrival 1.5 hours before the race for packet pickup duties. Full race volunteers receive a race shirt, VIP access, and a choice of a future race entry or a $20 prepaid digital gift card.
