Shark Week Showdown at Oyster Creek Park, Sugar Land
Bigfoot Running Company presents an ocean themed running event at Oyster Creek Park in Sugar Land with multiple race options and volunteer roles. The event includes on-site music, aid stations along the course, race tees, and finisher medals for the primary distances.

- Kids Dash - 50 m
- 1 Mile
- 5K 3.11 miles
- 10K 6.22 miles
- Volunteer Then Run 5K 3.11 miles
- Virtual Run 9.33 miles
The 5K and 10K are chip timed and include awards. Overall winners for men and women receive a Bigfoot trophy, first Masters 40 plus receive a recognition pin, and age group awards are given for standard categories with gold, silver, and bronze places. Age groups include 10 and under, 11–14, 15–19, then five year bands from 20–24 through 70 plus.
Volunteer opportunities include a limited Volunteer Then Run option for the 5K that provides a custom chip timed bib, race tee, and finisher medal and is limited to the first ten sign ups. Full race volunteers receive a race shirt, VIP access, and a choice of a future race entry or a twenty dollar prepaid digital gift card. Volunteers are asked to arrive ahead of the event for check in.
The course uses a mix of pavement, crushed granite, and some dirt paths. The event proceeds regardless of typical weather conditions and takes place in public park areas shared with other users. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
