Event Overview
The US Road Running Medal Madness event in Katy, Texas, takes place at the Mason Creek Hike & Bike Trail. This organized run offers a variety of distances held on out-and-back courses. The event requires all participants to register in advance through RunSignup, as there is no option for on-site registration on the day of the event.
Course Information
The event utilizes two specific course layouts depending on the chosen distance. Both are paved routes designed as out-and-back loops.
- 5K: This race follows a 0.78-mile out-and-back course (for a total loop of 1.56 miles) which participants must complete twice.
- 10K: Runners use the same 1.56-mile loop and complete it four times.
- Half Marathon: This race uses a longer 1.09-mile out-and-back course (2.18 miles per loop). Participants complete this section six times.
There is a course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes for all distances.
Participation Details
Packet pickup is available at the race location starting 30 minutes before the start and closing 10 minutes prior to the beginning of the run. Designated event parking is located at the 2500 Porter Road entrance. Participants are eligible for finisher medals, and the event features a best costume competition.
