The Shield of Kindness 5K and Kids Fun Run
The Shield of Kindness 5K and Kids Fun Run is a community event in Shreveport, Louisiana on August 22, 2026. It is presented by the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office and Sportspectrum and takes place at Town South Swim Club, 9630 Smitherman, Shreveport 71115.

Entry options and fees are specified by the organizer. The published fees include a 1-mile Fun Run/Walk entry at $10 with a T-shirt, a 5K entry at $25 which includes a T-shirt and one armband for the community swim, and a Sleep In Supporter option at $20 that includes a T-shirt and sponsors a Fun Runner for the swim. Participants who register before Monday August 10 will receive a performance T-shirt with their race packet.
Packet pick-up is handled by Sportspectrum at 6970 Fern Avenue, Shreveport, with additional race day packet availability at the race site. The event also includes a Shield of Kindness community swim at Town South Swim Club.
Awards for the 5K include overall male and female winners and medals for first place male and female in each age group: 10 and under, 11 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, and 60 plus.
