OUTLAST Shreveport - Night Out Edition
OUTLAST is a six hour trail endurance event where runners complete a 5K lap on the hour, every hour. Each lap must be finished within the hour to remain in the event; runners who finish early rest until the next lap. Missing a lap removes a runner from further competition. Completing all six laps yields the full event finish.
The course is trail based and includes natural terrain such as dirt, rocks, roots, and elevation changes; some sections may include pavement or gravel. Each 5K is timed individually; a runner who completes all six will have a combined time that counts for local placement and the national leaderboard. Aid is available at basecamp or the loop start with water, basic hydration, and snacks. This is a cupless event so participants should bring their own bottle or hydration system. Night participants are required to carry headlamps. Trail footwear, weather-appropriate layers, and fuel for between laps are recommended. Participants may set up personal tents or aid stations.
Recognition and prizes are awarded by laps and finish position. Four completed laps earn a "Grit Earned" patch, five laps earn a "Survivor" patch, and six laps earn a premium OUTLAST medal plus national leaderboard ranking. All participants receive a premium OUTLAST tee. The first place male and female at this event each receive $1,000. The top times nationally receive additional awards and invitations to the Outlast Championship in 2027.
Event location: 9100 Hwy 1, Shreveport, LA. Registration opens 6/7/2026 and closes 8/22/2026; registration fee is $100. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
