Heroes and Villains Half Marathon - San Antonio

This event presented by Bigfoot Running Company offers multiple race distances on scenic local park and greenbelt trails with mixed surfaces including pavement, crushed granite, and dirt. Aid stations are available along the courses. All finishers in every distance receive a medal and a shirt, and chip timing is used for the 5K, Quarter Marathon, and Half Marathon.

A costume contest takes place just before the Kids Dash and the main race start, with prizes that include a $25 gift card, a free future race entry, and a themed prize pack. Live music with a DJ, on-course support from staff and volunteers, trophies for overall winners, and age group pins are part of the awards and finish area activities. Post race amenities include results, an awards presentation, refreshments, and finish line photos.

Volunteer opportunities include a Volunteer Then Run option that includes a chip timed bib, t-shirt, and finisher medal, plus non running volunteer roles with race shirt, VIP access, and a choice of a future race entry or a $20 digital gift card. Packet pickup opens 1.5 hours before the race start. Races proceed rain or shine and the event takes place in public parks where other park users may be present.
