Event overview
The Day of the Dead Half Marathon - San Antonio takes place on October 4, 2026, at Northeast Lakeview College in Live Oak, TX. The event is presented as a Day of the Dead - Texas Parks Edition and is organized by Bigfoot Running Company. The course is routed through parkland and green belts with mixed surfaces that may include pavement, crushed granite, and dirt paths. Aid stations are provided on course. The 5K, Quarter Marathon, and Half Marathon are chip timed; the Kids Dash and 1 Mile are not chip timed. Standard age-group awards include overall trophies for 1st male and female, masters recognition for age 40+, and medal or pin awards across age bands from 10 and under through 70+. Packet pickup is offered beginning 1.5 hours before the race start. Volunteer roles include course monitor and aid station duties; full-race volunteers receive a race shirt, souvenir medal (subject to availability), VIP access, and a choice of a free future race entry or a $20 prepaid digital gift card.
