Day of the Dead Half Marathon - San Antonio
The Day of the Dead Half Marathon: Texas Parks Edition is a multi-distance running event based at Northeast Lakeview College in Live Oak, Texas. The event offers a range of distances and formats, including in-person and virtual options, and is presented by Bigfoot Running Company.
Distances offered:
- Kids Dash : about 20 yards, for children 10 and under.
- 1 Mile : untimed, includes a tee shirt and race medal.
- 5K : 3.11 miles, chip timed with overall trophies and age group awards.
- Quarter Marathon : 6.55 miles, chip timed with Bigfoot trophies and age group awards.
- Half Marathon : 13.1 miles, chip timed with Bigfoot trophies and age group awards.
- Volunteer then Run : participate in a run after volunteering duties.
- Virtual Run : 13.1 miles completed remotely.
Aid stations are provided on course to supply water and assistance. Course surfaces may include pavement, crushed granite, and dirt paths, and the event typically takes place in parks and green belts. Packet pickup is available before the event.
Pre-race activities include a judged costume contest with awards for creativity and authenticity. Post-race activities are centered at a rally tent and include live music, announcements, snacks, and awards presentation.
