Day of the Dead Half Marathon - San Antonio
This event, produced by Bigfoot Running Company, is centered at Northeast Lakeview College in Live Oak, Texas. It includes multiple in-person races and a virtual option, all linked to a Day of the Dead theme and a pre-race costume contest judged for creativity and authenticity.
The schedule includes packet pickup starting 1.5 hours before the race. Aid stations will provide water along the course. A post-race rally tent offers music and Mexican food and drinks for finishers. Shirt availability is guaranteed only until 10 days before the event; any remaining sizes will be posted if available.
Awards and timing: chip timing is used for the 5K, quarter marathon, and half marathon. Those three distances feature overall trophies for male and female winners, masters recognition, and standard age group pins or placements for youth through 70 plus. The 1-mile and Kids Dash are not chip timed; the Kids Dash includes a shirt, medal, and recognition pin.
Volunteer options: a Volunteer then Run option includes a chip timed bib, tee, and finisher medal. Full race volunteers earn a race shirt, souvenir medal subject to availability, VIP race access, and a choice of a free future race entry or a $20 prepaid digital gift card.
