Running Through the Decades - 1980s Edition
Running Through the Decades - 1980s Edition is hosted by Bigfoot Running Company at Eisenhower Park in San Antonio on 05/31/2026. The event includes multiple in person and virtual race options and a pre race costume contest with awards. A live DJ will play 1980s music during the event.
Distances offered:
- Kids Dash: about 50 meters for ages 10 and under, includes shirt and medal.
- 1 Mile Run: untimed, includes tee and finisher medal.
- 5K (3.11 miles): chip timed, overall and age group awards, Masters recognition.
- Quarter Marathon (6.55 miles): chip timed, Bigfoot trophies and age group awards.
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles): chip timed, Bigfoot trophies and full age group awards.
- Virtual Run (13.1 miles): virtual half marathon option.
- Volunteer then Run (5K): chip timed 5K, includes shirt and finisher medal, limited to first five.
All finishers receive a race medal and shirt; a shirt guarantee is noted for entries made before a specified cutoff. Standard age group awards are offered for male and female divisions from 10 and under through 70 plus, with first overall male and female receiving Bigfoot trophies and first Masters 40 plus receiving a recognition pin.
Course surfaces include pavement and park paths with possible crushed granite or dirt sections. Aid stations with water will be available. The event takes place in public parks and greenbelts where other park users may be present. Volunteer roles include water station, course monitor, finish line helper, turtle or sweeper, packet pickup, floater, lead bike, and Bigfoot mascot. Full race volunteers receive a race shirt, VIP access, and a choice of a future race entry or a $20 Amazon digital gift card. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
