About the race
Fiesta Footsteps for Education is a community running event on May 8, 2027 at Heroes Stadium, 4707 David Edwards Drive, San Antonio, TX. The event is organized by NEISD Benefits & Wellness and the North East Educational Foundation and includes in-person and virtual participation options.
Distances and formats:
- 5K Run & Walk, chip timed
- 1K Kid's Color Fun Run, color powder portion
- Siesta Walker, virtual participation
The 1K Kid's Color Fun Run uses colored powder made from cornstarch that organizers describe as non-toxic and washable. Parents and guardians are asked to acknowledge the color portion; organizers recommend wearing white or old clothing, considering protective eyewear for sensitivity, and noting any corn or dust sensitivities.

A Health and Wellness Fair with local vendors, resources, and activities follows the running events. Packet pick-up is delivered to selected campuses or available at the North East Educational Foundation office at 8961 Tesoro Dr, Suite 609, San Antonio, TX 78217; community pick-up requires ID. Volunteer opportunities are available for students and retired NEISD employees. Entry fees vary by event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
