Heroes and Villains Half Marathon - Irving
Bigfoot Running Company stages the Heroes and Villains Half Marathon at Sam Houston Trail Park in Irving, Texas. The event offers a range of in-person and virtual race options and includes a costume contest, post-race awards, a DJ, and on-site refreshments.
Distances offered:
- Kids Dash - 50-meter untimed dash for ages 10 and under
- 1 Mile Run - untimed fun run for all ages
- 5K (3.11 miles) - chip timed
- Quarter Marathon (6.55 miles) - chip timed
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles) - chip timed
- Volunteer Then Run - chip-timed 5K with volunteer duties, limited spots
- Virtual Run - 13.1 miles, participate remotely
A costume contest takes place shortly before the children’s race, with prizes that include a gift card, a free future race entry, and a themed prize pack. All finishers in every distance receive a medal and a shirt; standard timed races also award overall trophies, masters recognition, and age-group pins for top finishers.
Packet pickup opens 1.5 hours before the race. Course surfaces use park and greenbelt trails, mostly paved with some crushed granite and dirt sections, and aid stations are available along the routes.
