Katy 5K : Katy Trail Dallas
The Katy 5K is an annual five-kilometer event held on the Katy Trail in Dallas. The 2026 edition is the 28th annual race and is presented by Michelob ULTRA. The certified course runs through Turtle Creek, Uptown, and the heart of the Katy Trail, with scenic views along the route. The race is officially timed and results are posted online after the event.
Every registration includes a dry-fit recycled short-sleeve race shirt, a custom race bib, a finisher's medal, two 12-oz Michelob ULTRA beverages (alcoholic or non-alcoholic), free food from more than 35 local restaurants, and sponsor swag. A finish-line celebration continues into the Katy Picnic Party with live music from a DJ and photo activations. A VIP registration tier adds access to a VIP tent, a branded towel and shoe bag, a catered meal, specialty desserts, additional swag, and other VIP amenities.
Event logistics note one water station on course plus water at the finish, free bike valet near the start, limited free parking at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital, and packet pick-up options before race day. Pets and drones are not allowed on the course; strollers may start at the back. The race is held rain or shine. Participation supports Friends of the Katy Trail, helping fund security patrols, lighting, water, organic landscaping, and ongoing trail maintenance.
