Event Details
The Running through the Decades Half Marathon takes place at Brazos River Park in Sugarland, Texas. This edition has an 1980s theme. The event features a pre-race costume contest for best overall look, best group, and most authentic 80s outfit.
Distances Offered
- Kids Dash (approx. 50 meters)
- 1 Mile Fun Run (untimed)
- 5K (3.11 miles, chip-timed)
- Quarter Marathon (6.55 miles, chip-timed)
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles, chip-timed)
All finishers receive a finisher medal and a race shirt. The 1 Mile Fun Run is untimed, while the 5K, Quarter Marathon, and Half Marathon are chip-timed events with awards for overall winners, Masters (40+), and age groups.
Additional Information
Youth pricing is available for participants aged 12 and under for the 5K. Group discounts and a referral bonus program are offered. The course uses paved trails and park paths, with some mixed surfaces possible, including crushed granite or dirt paths. Aid stations with water will be available.
A "Volunteer then Run" option is available for the 5K distance, which includes volunteering before the race. There are also various non-running volunteer roles, such as water station attendant, course monitor, or finish line helper. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
