Big Turtle Trail Runs
The Big Turtle Trail Runs takes place on Saturday, June 6, 2026. The event is held in Morehead, Kentucky, at the Morehead State University Recreation & Wellness Center (100 Evans Branch Road). It is an untimed running event on the Sheltowee Trace National Recreation Trail in the Daniel Boone National Forest. The challenge is to finish within the overall time limit; all participants who finish by the final cutoff will receive a finisher medal.
Two distances are offered:
- 50K: Approximately 32 miles with about 4,800 feet of elevation gain.
- 10 Miler: Approximately 10 miles with about 2,200 feet of elevation gain.
Packet pickup is from 5:30 AM to 8:00 AM on race day. Parking is available across the street in a parking garage. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
