Turkey Trot for a Cure 5K Walk/Run for Alzheimer's
The Turkey Trot for a Cure is the 16th annual 5K walk/run held in Morehead, Kentucky at the Morehead Conference Center. The event raises awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s disease, with all proceeds benefiting the Sisters of Notre Dame Eastern Kentucky Foundation Alzheimer’s and Dementia Caregiver Fund. The organizer states that every dollar stays within the local service region to support families and caregivers.
Event activities include a silent auction, a health fair, refreshments, and educational information about Alzheimer’s disease. The program will also feature a slideshow to honor loved ones and opportunities for volunteers and local business sponsors; sponsors can have their logo placed on the back of race shirts.
Race packets will include a commemorative shirt and a race bib. Registration details provided by the organizer note that registration opens July 7, 2026, and that early bird registration ends Saturday, October 24, 2026; registrations after that date are not guaranteed a t-shirt. The published registration fee is $25.00 and a tiered pricing schedule is referenced by the organizer.
The event is presented as a community fundraising and awareness activity tied to National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness month and prior annual Turkey Trot events in the same community. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
