Run Morehead 5K : Downtown Morehead, Kentucky
Run Morehead 5K is an annual community running and walking event held in downtown Morehead. The in-person 5K is chip timed and takes place on paved roadway surfaces through the downtown area. Walkers, strollers, and dogs on fixed length leashes are permitted. Participants receive a commemorative race shirt and a finisher's medal.
A virtual option is available for those who cannot attend in person; virtual participants receive a mailed race shirt and finisher's medal for a listed donation. Volunteers are invited to support race-day operations and receive a commemorative race shirt for helping.
Awards are presented to top finishers overall and for top finishers by male and female categories across multiple age groups, including youth and masters divisions up to 70 and over. The event includes pre- and post-race activities such as music, food, and free race photos.
Packet pickup is offered the day before at the Morehead Police Department and on race day at the Battson-Oates Entertainment Area. Proceeds benefit the Shop With A Cop program, a local initiative that provides holiday shopping experiences for children. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
