Run Morehead 5K
The Run Morehead 5K is an annual community event taking place in downtown Morehead, Kentucky. Now in its sixth year, the race is held at the Rowan County Arts Center and follows a route through the heart of the city on paved roadway surfaces. The event is open to participants of various ages and experience levels, with specific options available for both runners and walkers.
Participants can choose from the following event categories:
- 5K (Run/Walk)
- 3.1 Miles (Virtual)
The course is closed to traffic and features chip timing. Strollers and dogs on fixed-length leashes are permitted on the route. Those who cannot attend the physical event in Kentucky may participate via a virtual option, which allows individuals to complete the distance in their own location.
Registration includes a commemorative participant shirt and a finisher's medal. Shirts are available in various adult and youth sizes. The event also provides free race photos and features music and food at the venue. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three finishers in several age categories spanning from under 9 to over 70. Proceeds from the event are directed toward the local Shop With A Cop program. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
