Big Rivers Splash & Dash
Big Rivers Splash & Dash takes place on June 13, 2026 at Big Rivers Waterpark in New Caney, TX (23101 TX-242, 77357). The event benefits the TANGO2 Research Foundation and is presented by the park. Organizers note the event responds to a family affected by the TANGO2 disorder.
Races and options include multiple distances and formats:
- Aquathlon: 500m swim and 5K run
- 10K run
- 5K run
- Kids Dash: 100 to 200 meters
- Virtual 5K
- Virtual 10K
The courses run around the park and the on-site lake, with the aquathlon swim held in the lazy river. The Kids Dash takes place near the front of the waterpark and parents are welcome to join. A Volunteer Then Run program requires volunteers to arrive 1.5 hours before the 5K to assist with packet pick-up and set-up, and to help with water, medals, and awards after finishing.
Registered participants receive a custom race shirt, a custom finisher medal, and an official race bib. Awards are available for overall and age group placements. Early entry to the waterpark on race day is included with registration.
