Firecracker 5K The Woodlands

The Firecracker 5K is a one-time only patriotic 5K produced by The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department along The Woodlands Waterway. The event is sanctioned by USA Track and Field and uses chip timing for the 5K course that winds through the Waterway.

Awards are provided for overall male and female finishers and for first, second and third place in male and female age groups. There will not be an awards ceremony; awards will be distributed onsite. A photo area will be available for participants. Strollers are not permitted on the course per USATF sanction requirements.

Registration is limited to pre-registered participants. The registration fee is $50 and includes a participant t-shirt, finisher medal and participant packet. There will be no race day registration. Participants who pre-register may pay $10 to pick up their packet on race day.

Packet pickup takes place at The Woodlands Township Townhall Board Chambers, 2801 Technology Forest Blvd., on the dates listed by the organizer. The refund policy allows a full refund until June 11, 2026; refunds do not include the Active.com processing fee and may take up to three weeks to process. Entry fees are nontransferable from year to year and transfers must be completed by June 11, 2026. Sponsors include The Strong Firm and Black Walnut Cafe.
