Firecracker 5K - The Woodlands Waterway
The Firecracker 5K is a one-time-only patriotic run held along The Woodlands Waterway on July 2, 2026, produced by The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department. The event is USA Track and Field sanctioned and uses chip timing for the 5K course, which winds throughout the Waterway and is described as scenic.
Awards are provided for overall male and female finishers and for first, second and third place in male and female age groups; awards will be distributed onsite and there will not be an awards ceremony. A photo area will be available for participants. The race is recommended for participants ages 10 and older. Participants are encouraged to wear patriotic attire. Strollers are not permitted on the course per USATF sanction requirements.
Registration costs $50 and includes a participant t shirt, a finisher medal and a participant packet. There is no Race Day Registration. Only pre-registered entrants may pick up packets on race day if they have paid an additional $10 for Race Day Packet Pickup.
Packet pickup is scheduled at The Woodlands Township Townhall Board Chambers, 2801 Technology Forest Blvd., on Tuesday June 30 and Wednesday July 1 from noon to 6 p.m. The refund policy provides a full refund of the entry fee until June 11, 2026, excluding processing fees. Transfers must be completed by June 11 via the Active account system. There is no refund for weather cancellations. Sponsors listed include The Strong Firm and Black Walnut Cafe.
