About the race
The BIG LEX 4 Miler takes place on July 10, 2027, at Keeneland Racecourse in Lexington, KY. The event is presented by VisitLEX and includes multiple participation options and volunteer roles. Registration opens January 1, 2027; specific closing dates vary by event.
Distances and options:
- 4 Miles - chip-timed, paved course, awards.
- 1 Mile - untimed Fun Walk, no awards or timing.
- 1/4 Mile - kids fun run for age 12 and under, untimed.
- 4 Miles (virtual) - run or walk remotely, no awards.
The signature 4 Mile is chip-timed and managed by Team RaceRise. The entire in-person 4 Mile course is on paved surfaces. Awards are given for overall finishers, age groups, and the largest team in the 4 Mile event. Little LEX participants receive a commemorative shirt and a kid's finisher medal; that kids event is not timed and does not offer awards. Virtual participants can receive a mailed commemorative race shirt and may submit a time, but the virtual event does not have awards.
Packet pickup is offered at a local running store and at Keeneland near the start/finish. Volunteer opportunities are available on race day. The race charity beneficiary will be announced when online registration opens. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
