About the race
The Big Dipper Half Marathon is a challenging 13.1-mile road race in Dronfield, Derbyshire, set on the North Derbyshire countryside near the Peak District National Park. The route climbs about 1,675 ft, starting at The Hyde Park Inn on Hill Top, heading through Barlow, Shillito Woods, and Unthank, then looping back toward Holmesfield with an uphill finish to the start. Runners compete on closed roads amid scenic countryside views, with road closures in place for safety.
