Event overview
The Ranger Ultras PB230km Trail Challenge is a multi-day trail running event held 16-19 April 2026 with a maximum of 30 entries. The course covers 230 km (about 143 miles) with a total ascent of 6,162 metres and a 75-hour time limit. Minimum age to enter is 20 years. Entry fees are listed as £358 (affiliated) and £360 (unaffiliated). Entries were open from 23 March 2025 and close 6 April 2026; 18 participants are listed so far. Registration and race headquarters are at The Peak Centre, Edale; the finish is in Kirkby Stephen.
Course and logistics
The route mainly follows the Pennine Bridleway with some scenic upland deviations, and passes through the Peak District, West Yorkshire and North Yorkshire moors before finishing in Cumbria. Organisers provide navigation course notes and GPX files to entrants in advance.

- Edale to Hebden Bridge - 93 km, ascent 2,897 m
- Hebden Bridge to Settle - 69 km, ascent 1,685 m
- Settle to Kirkby Stephen - 68 km, ascent 1,580 m
Two indoor checkpoints and a staffed finish offer hot meals, hot drinks, sleeping space or bunkrooms, showers and access to drop bags. Checkpoints have maximum allowed rest durations. A Ranger Safety Team provides on-course support and water top-ups. Finishers receive eco-medals and trophies for fastest finishers by gender and age categories.
