Pink Moon - Ladies Trail Half Marathon
The Pink Moon Ladies trail half marathon is a women only trail race returning for its third year in 2027. The event covers 13.1 mile out and back on mixed trails and tracks, timed with the rising of the April full moon known as the Pink Moon. Expect a slower pace than a road half marathon; organisers note participants may be 20 to 30 minutes longer than their usual half marathon time.
The route passes through Sutton Springs Wood, climbs onto the Five Pits Trail, and includes undulating sections before a turning loop in Pilsley where a checkpoint provides water, squash and sweets. Runners return along the same route to the finish, where every finisher receives a medal and can have complementary cake and hot drinks by a campfire.
Race headquarters are at Rock Lane, Sutton Scarsdale S44 5ST. Free car parking is available at the race HQ and on the nearby lane, and toilets are provided at the HQ. The event has a time limit of 3½ hours. Safety measures include additional marshals in high visibility, glow sticks through the wood and down Rock Lane to guide the route, a tail runner or safety bike on course, and medic cover on the course and at race HQ.
