Big Brothers Big Sisters Miles for Mentorship 2026
The event is scheduled for October 4, 2026 at Hawk Island Park in Lansing, Michigan. It is the 6th annual edition of this run, which supports the mentoring programs of Big Brothers Big Sisters Michigan Capital Region. The main activity is an outdoor 5K course that participants can run or walk. The route is an out-and-back course, starting and ending at the Red Tail Shelter within the park.
Available events include:
- 5k Run/Walk
- Spooky Sprint Kids Run (for children 12 years and under; Halloween costumes are encouraged)
- Virtual 5k Run/Walk
The 5K race is professionally chip-timed by the Michigan Running Foundation, with results posted online. The Spooky Sprint Kids Run is free of charge, and participants in it receive a treat bag and a finisher medal. Participants in the 5K receive a finisher medal, and those who register by September 4, 2026 are guaranteed a complimentary race shirt.
The event features a water station at the halfway point of the 5K course. Parking at Hawk Island Park is free for participants. Baby joggers and strollers are allowed but must start at the back of the starting area. Dogs are not permitted on the course unless they are service animals.
