Big Brothers Big Sisters Miles for Mentorship 2026
The event is the sixth annual Miles for Mentorship hosted by Big Brothers Big Sisters Michigan Capital Region on October 4, 2026 at Hawk Island Park. It includes an outdoor, in-person 5K run or walk and a virtual 5K option. The 5K is an out-and-back course that starts and ends at the Red Tail Shelter. The race is professionally chip timed by the Michigan Running Foundation and results are posted during the event and online.
A family-oriented kids event, the Spooky Sprint Kids Run is open to children 12 years of age and under and is free of charge. Halloween costumes are encouraged for in-person participants. Each child in the Spooky Sprint receives a finisher medal and a pumpkin to paint at the finish line.
Proceeds from the event support the agency’s mission to create one-to-one mentoring relationships so youth can achieve their potential. Packet pickup is available at the Big Brothers Big Sisters Michigan Capital Region office and at Hawk Island Park on the event weekend.
