Big Brothers Big Sisters Miles for Mentorship 2026
Big Brothers Big Sisters Michigan Capital Region presents the sixth annual Miles for Mentorship, an outdoor walk and run 5K at Hawk Island Park in Lansing, Michigan. The 5K is an out-and-back course that starts and ends at the Red Tail Shelter. Proceeds support the agency’s work to create 1-to-1 mentoring relationships so youth can achieve their full potential.
The event program includes a chip-timed 5K handled by the Michigan Running Foundation. Race results will be posted during the event and made available online. A virtual 5K option is offered for participants who do not attend in person.
A separate youth event, the Spooky Sprint Kids Run, is offered free to children 12 years of age and younger. Halloween costumes are encouraged for the kids run; each child participant will receive a treat bag and a finisher medal at the finish line.
