Big Brothers Big Sisters Miles for Mentorship 2026
The event takes place on October 4, 2026, at Hawk Island Park in Lansing, Michigan. It is the sixth annual Miles for Mentorship fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters Michigan Capital Region. Proceeds support the agency’s mission to create 1-to-1 mentoring relationships for youth.
Events and distances
- 5 km Run/Walk - out-and-back course starting and ending at Red Tail Shelter.
- Spooky Sprint - free for children 12 and under; costumes encouraged; treat bag and medal.
- Virtual 5 km Run/Walk - remote participation option.
Logistics
Registration opens January 13, 2026, with tiered pricing that begins at $25 and increases before the event. The 5k will be chip timed by the Michigan Running Foundation and results will be posted during the event and online. Packet pick up will be in person only. There are no refunds and the event will proceed rain or shine. Hawk Island Park provides on-site parking. Baby joggers and strollers are allowed but should line up toward the back of the starting area; dogs are not permitted unless they are service animals.
