MSU Miles for Medicine

MSU Miles for Medicine is a fundraiser event located in East Lansing, Michigan, hosted by the Michigan State University Student National Medical Associations and MSU Spartan Street Medicine. The event takes place at Conrad Hall and features two distinct distances:

  • 3.1 Miles (5K Run/Walk)
  • Kids Fun Run

The 5K run/walk is professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation, with results delivered live via text. Overall winners are recognized in the 5K, while all participants in the Kids Fun Run receive a finisher medal. The Kids Fun Run follows an out and back course. Participants who register by September 6 receive an exclusive race t-shirt, available in both youth and adult sizes.

The event serves to support several medical initiatives and community health programs. Proceeds and donations benefit the Care Free Medical Clinic in Lansing, The White Dress Project for fibroid research and awareness, and Spartan Street Medicine. Funds also support medical student conferences including the SNMA CHM Annual Pre-Medical Pathways Conference and the SNMA COM OsteoMAPS Conference.

The race day environment includes various activities such as free health screenings for blood pressure and glucose, music, and games. These efforts help provide medical supplies, food, clothing, and clinical education opportunities for the local community. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
