Capital City River Run - Lansing, Michigan
The Capital City River Run is a two day event held in September that benefits the Impression 5 Science Center. The event marks its 33rd anniversary and supports the museum’s mission to provide children and families access to science exploration through hands-on exhibits and participatory programming.
Races take place in downtown Lansing and use local streets and trails. The half marathon and 5K use Michigan Avenue, Grand River Avenue, the MSU campus, and the Lansing River Trail, finishing near Adado Park. The kids races occur on the Lansing River Trail and are connected to activities at the Impression 5 Science Center, including an after race pizza party for participants.
Race services include chip timing provided by the Michigan Running Foundation and online result availability. Packet pickup is held at the Impression 5 Science Center prior to and on race day. Finishers items are provided: half marathon and 5K participants receive a sweatshirt and a finishers medal. Children in the kids races receive a finishers medal and a goodie bag.
