Capital City River Run : September 19-20, 2026
The Capital City River Run is a community race weekend in Lansing, Michigan, that benefits Impression 5 Science Center and its hands-on exhibits and programs for children and families. The event location is Impression 5 Science Center and nearby downtown Lansing sites, including the Lansing River Trail and Rotary Park. The half marathon and 5K use Michigan Avenue, the Lansing River Trail, and finish in front of Rotary Park in downtown Lansing. The event is chip timed by the Michigan Running Foundation and results are available online via Playmakers.
Logistics and services
Packet pick up is available at Impression 5 Science Center the day before and on race day. Half marathon and 5K participants receive a crew neck sweatshirt (choice of two colors) and a finisher medal. Kids’ participants receive a stainless steel water bottle, a finisher medal, an invitation to spend the day at the science museum, and a pizza party after the event. Sohn Linen provides a bag drop near Michigan Avenue and Cedar Street and at the finish in Rotary Park. Parking is available at Impression 5 via City Market Drive off Cedar Street. Aid stations on the half marathon course are located at seven points and offer water, Gatorade, and porta johns. Running strollers are allowed; dogs are not.
