Capital City River Run
The Capital City River Run takes place September 19 to September 20, 2026 in Lansing, Michigan. The event benefits Impression 5 Science Center and its mission to provide children and families access to science exploration through hands-on exhibits and participatory programming.
The event program includes multiple race distances:
- Half marathon
- 5K walk/run
- Sohn Kids Races: mile and sprint
All half marathon and 5K participants receive a crew neck sweatshirt with a choice of two colors and a finishers medal. The event is chip timed by the Michigan Running Foundation and results are posted online at Playmakers.com.
The kids races are organized at Impression 5 Science Center, with the one mile held along the Lansing River Trail. Children who take part are invited to spend the day at the science museum and to a pizza party after the races; kids receive a stainless steel water bottle and a finishers medal.
The half marathon and 5K use Michigan Avenue and the Lansing River Trail for their course. Both race courses begin in front of the Lansing Center and finish in front of Rotary Park in downtown Lansing. Packet pick up is handled at Impression 5 Science Center.
