Besotted at Bingley - Event overview
Besotted at Bingley is an off-road, chip-timed running event organised by Its Grim Up North Running on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal towpath near Wagon Lane, Bingley. The course is described as flat apart from the 3-rise and 5-rise locks and is classed as good trail. All races are licensed by the Trail Running Association under UKA rules. Feed and drink stations are provided approximately every three miles. The event provides downloadable GPX route files, a bespoke finisher medal, and post-race treats for finishers.
Route, logistics and entry
The course is marshalled and signed. Organisers aim to be cup-less at feed stations and advise runners to bring a reusable cup or bottle. Large over-ear headphones are banned; bone conduction or single-ear in-ear devices are permitted. Entrants can self-serve transfers or deferrals through the organiser’s booking channels. If a runner needs to withdraw, they should inform the nearest marshal; in some circumstances a drop to a shorter distance during the event may be allowed.
